Each stone has a different story to tell all due to ecological changes:

Limestone is made from shells and minerals and is usually light in colour and very delicate. Travertine comes in remarkable shades and colours and is a hard durable stone. Slate is a durable stone which offers a diverse range of colours and textures.

Terracotta offers a traditional alternative and absorbs very easily.

Marble has a vast spectrum of colours from white to black, with mineral veining generally contrasting to the base stone colour.
